I think we can all agree that disrupting a voluntary assembly like that is a pretty asshole thing to do.

Yes, that was uncalled for. And bringing a gun is downright scary.

It's uncalled for - having said that, there is something sick and perverted about the very idea of "drag queen story hour" for children.

Pick your targets man. How about the pre-teen drag-child that dances at strip clubs.

Sick and perverted? Nah. It'll broaden the kids' horizons, and some of them might even get a laugh about it.

If it were strip story hour, then I'd be the first one to say "stop this shit now". But calling drag queen story hour sick and perverted? That's just homophobic.

I wasn't particularly shocked by the time Eddie Izzard's HBO stand up premiered. Looking back on it though I think it was a positive occurrence of becoming acquainted with such a fellow.

You can be a heterosexual drag queen: therefore not automatically homophobic. Drag queens do not even have their roots in homosexuality, its a development of pantomine and vaudville that eventually became what we know of today.

I kind of liked Eddie Izzard's explanation of it, which is that he was like the male version of a tomboy, which makes sense (at least to me).
