PREACH IT!

And hell, he was regularly slaughtering droids. When pushed, he'd sometimes behave as ruthlessly as the enemy was when it came to living beings on the CSA side.

He fought the CSA, that doesn't in itself make him a good guy any more that Stalin was a good man because he fought the Nazis.

That is also a valid viewpoint, Slash, and I'll always maintain the same thing, but at the same time, Anakin as written in stuff like The Clone Wars and so on has shown... I don't think he would be above torture to get information if he had to. Not in a "Palpatine" manner, more in a Jack Bauer way, which a Jedi should never subscribe to. Like maybe he'd cut off their hand. Remember how he screamed at Zam Wessell to "TELL US NOW?!" Clearly he was warping her mind too. That was one scary moment.

I don't think Lucas had the skill to convincingly write the fall of someone like that. I kind of agree with Plinkett that he should have modeled him on Kane from Citizen Kane if nothing else, which also follows that character from a childhood where he is taken from his simple home with his mother to go on to "bigger, better things." Honestly I don't think it would have been that hard given what Yoda said about Vader being seduced by how quicker and easier the Dark Side was.

He should not have done it but he was a good guy during the Clone Wars.

Anakin's conduct during the CW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Red Army.
Within the context of the films we can't assume that. After all prior to the clone wars he had already engaged in the mass slaughter of children and one of the few actions we seem him undertake during the clone wars is the murder of a POW.

We saw him be heroic in the Clone Wars plenty in both the EU and the animated series.
We saw plenty of Anakin in the CW besides that one incident. I think that is the CW series Geonosis arc?

Well, how have we seen him be heroic? See, in something like Stover's novel, I could buy he was a hero, given how well it was written, but... other cases, not so much.

And none of that heroism is in the movies.

It is and only the movies count?
