There's a world of nuance between skinny and fat and yes, fat people are persistently bad at choosing a proper diet or exercising enough to offset the increased intake down to a healthy level. And it has nothing to do with sin, it's all about common sense. You literally can not become fat without eating too much. No human being in the history of ever had the ability to spontaneously convert residual heat to body mass.

Took me a while to recover from laughing. Than I began to laugh again.

I'm not talking about spontaenous generation, I'm talking about the fact that people are not bunsen burners.

Do you acknowledge that there are some skinny people who stay skinny no matter how much they eat?

Well, I went from 542 lbs to 455 lbs since August. Yeah, it can be done. Look at me.

Wow. Good on you, man. That's amazing.

Losing weight is simple, of course. All you need to do is eat fewer calories than you expend. But that doesn't mean it's easy. It's hard as all get out for most people.

So keep up the good work. All the science says you'll be better off for it.

I rarely go over 2,000 calories per day. Hell, some days I only wolf down 500 or 800 calories. Plus lots of exercising. I wish it wasn't so freaking cold, with snow piled everywhere, so I could walk to the store. It's a few blocks away. That would burn some calories, when we need someone to shop.

Why should I? It has no bearing on the topic of this thread. And in regard to the upper part of your post, I am quite aware that effective weight-gain or -loss is very much depending on the individual's physical properties, both genetics as well as occupation. The fact remains: You can't become fat if you do not eat too much.

Go anyways. Colder means, your body needs to burn more calories to maintain it's heat. Snow in the way makes it harder to move in general, so again, your body burns more colaries to make your movement happen. It's almost as good as gym exercise ;)

Exercise is also important, as I'm finding out.

So you acknowledge genetics and metabolism are a thing.
How do you define "Too much"?

@Madner Kami I don't mind cold. I do mind snow piles everywhere that make a steady walk hell. No, I'm waiting till it melts.
