You're forgetting something important. SHE IS WHITE. And let's apply that to, say, someone like me. Majority of my friends are male, and I love them to death, but I'm still, as I said, a very male-negative persona. What do you make of that and how that applies to her?

Pretty much, but she's not a male technically.Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:43 pm You're forgetting something important. SHE IS WHITE. And let's apply that to, say, someone like me. Some would argue that's still prejudice, though - same as being anti-white, like some say she is.

Whether or not she's racist wasn't my question, was it?Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:21 pmAbout one particular movie, that doesn’t necessarily make her a racist.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 10:05 pmYou're not denying that she discriminated, you're just trying to justify it.Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:59 pm She said she didn't care about the opinion of forty year old white men regarding the movie "A Wrinkle in Time". That doesn't mean she feels the same on every film, yet many want to interpret it that way to drive the same kind of narrative that groups like the KKK keep harping on that "white culture" is under attack by PC/SJW culture, which is what most of those review bombs consisted of.

Let's be clear, older white conservatives are the walking avatar for "white privilege" lots of young liberals and Feminists believe in, so if she was talking about them, then... I don't see a problem.

Annoyed "people"? Either source these people or admit you are the one who is annoyed, coward.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:18 am
To a much lesser extent, she also came and and said that she wants people to donate tickets for ''underprivileged'' girls to go and see the film. Which 1) Annoyed people because, y'know, there are ''underprivileged'' boys that can't see the film either

No, it isn't. Discrimination involves excluding or oppressing people in some way. My lack of concern over whether or not you like a movie is different from me oppression you. This aint no hugbox.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:23 pmIMakeshift Python wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:14 pmNo, I wasn't. There's a large number of white male journalists than any other demographic, and Larson is confronting that by saying there should be more diversity in the field, as opposed to white males dominating it in large numbers.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:01 pmSo what you're trying to say is,Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:24 pmThat's not the same thing as saying "we need to ban white men". No need to overreact.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 7:59 pm Brie Larson said that she didn't care about the opinions of white men about A Wrinkle in Time. Do I need to give the definition of discrimination?
?Brie Larson doesn't want to ban white men. Brie Larson wants to discriminate against white men. There's a difference there, and some people think the latter is just fine. Because, for some people, the problem isn't racism or sexism, the problem is that the targets were the wrong people.
isn't not caring about the opinions of white men for a movie a form of discrimination? I've still got that dictionary.
