Star Trek: Choose the crew challenge.

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Star Trek: Choose the crew challenge.

Post by Thebestoftherest »

This is basic idea is you describe one type of person you like to see in Star Trek and their story. Basically make your own OC, please one a person.

My character is a man Romulan human hybjrd in his thirties, he was in Star Fleet but due to mistakes by his captain and crew cause him to be disillusioned about it. He found the prime directive childish, and is horrified that one of his crew member kill an alien because he broke the prime directive to save him, he fail mutliple missions because the captain gave a young crew member inexperience son poisition of power he clearly wasn't ready for, he is disgusted that all the main crew seem to refused to do any training and gives up when his captain belittle him for mourning his mother death, since they accept death. So he end up in a group that is closer to what Quark believes as a bar tender.

No good at this sort of thing I'm afraid, but the one race I always thought got a raw deal was Gary Seven's band of humans that were stolen from Earth in order to save it. Perfect health, immune to the neck pinch, resistant to phaser stuns, can transport across galaxies, they have sonic screwdrivers, they are allies to a race of shape-shifting aliens that can turn into animals, and have access to plenty of cool gadgets. Written properly (which Gary absolutely wasn't) you could have a lot of stories with such a character.

Given the similarities, I imagine my OC to be very much like Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who. An outsider among humans, rather gruff, untrusting of authority, but always willing to go the extra mile to protect us. I also picture him as a bit like Neelix in that he is someone that the crew found one day and stuck with, which would also put him beyond the Prime Directive and other such nonsense. He would be a nice counterpoint whenever the Starfleet crew gush over killing a whole race for the PD and we'll get a Dr Who style ''why the f- are you humans not living up to your potential?'' expression that David Tennent and Matt Smith perfected so well.

Wrong section. This should belong in "Sci-Fi and Fantasy."

I thought that. Dunno if it can be moved though. You seem like someone that can make a great OC, what do you think?
