I don't watch a lot of movies. The last one I was really excited about was Annihilation, so I don't really have a dog in this fight.

But I'm nothing short of amazed at the buzz this film is generating. My Youtube suggestions are full of videos about this movie, most of which appear to hate it but a few of which are hailing it as visionary, despite the fact that it isn't even released yet. Heck, we have 22 pages of discussion on this tiny forum alone, and none of us have even seen it!

I'm envious of the passion, honestly.

He's not wrong given the front that the Captain Marvel team is putting up for their movie vs the lack of virtue signalling from the Alita team. Of course Alita is actually a pretty decent movie, too, so it's worth watching anyway.
Except Alita came out like a month ago.
So? That's how I know it's a decent movie that's worth watching.

I already saw ALITA. It's pretty unremarkable. I don't need to see it again, so I'll likely watch CAPTAIN MARVEL this weekend instead of rewatching ALITA.

Update: Review embargo over. Metacritic score is currently at 68. Which puts it higher than Iron Man 2. We'll have to wait a few days to see the audience score obviously.

Someone at AV Club called it underwhelming or something.

That's an old wives tale.

I'll be reviewing it positively without having even seen it, so you can be assured the score will be rigged. ;)

I on the other hand will watch the film first. I guess we now know which of us is more open to being proven wrong huh?

This isn't remotely as funny as you think it is, but it says a lot about your integrity.

Are you kidding? Python just gave an out to anybody that hates it later to screencap his comment as proof that it only got positive reviews because of leftist trolls!

Isn't that what we all want? That one person we can show was acting in bad faith for "the other side" so we can discount their entire argument? I know that's all I want when I'm looking for a reason to ignore an entire group of people.
