Is it okay for me to request reviews?

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

I mean, this is the last community I have left. There's no way I'm gonna do something to mess that up.

As I said, I'm expecting no special treatment and I intend to just wait around like everyone else. Gives one something to look forward to.

As long as you understand possible time-frames for reviews then it's your dollars and your patience.

As I've said elsewhere, I donated for some reviews that are now coming up on three years old. The reviews I originally wanted were for movies that weren't connected directly to anything Chuck had done at the time so they were put on the back burner. I requested a swap for episodes of a TV show a year ago. Unfortunately for me, that TV show also was not connected directly to anything Chuck had previously done so those requested episodes are also on the back burner.

What I'm trying to say is that if you request something that is of or directly connected to something he has already done or has an interest in then your request/s have a higher chance of coming sooner rather than later. If they are of something new then you should expect to wait a while. That's just how Chuck seems to work.

On his donation page he lists the shows that you can request episodes for.

For movies, anything that's Sci-Fi qualifies, but he won't do the Star Wars prequels.

I'm aware of that, lol. My only concern was wondering if my forum conduct made me ineligible.

Have you gotten any formal rebukes? Chucks burn in the Business As Usual thread doesn't count.

Got a warning once, but never since.

Restrictions and bans formally have to do with overt disruptions. Avoiding that is usually not a problem if you follow posted rules. Trolls will troll and try to break harmony in spite of the rules, but that's more circumstantial and I don't think anyone considers you in that territory.

Sure, if you go so far as to personally offend someone like Chuck, he could just flip the switch on you. But he's generally a pretty pragmatic person as far as I can tell, he doesn't get in heated debates as you might consider yourself getting into here, and this forum is generally meant for discussing stuff that we do with a consideration for such mannerisms. Basically the forum's a sandbox at recess, and we technically never go back to class unless you're a person submitting a donation for review request (it's an online course, just make sure you keep up on the work).

I don't see why not. One offhand remark expressing annoyance about the kinds of threads you were making doesn't mean he hates you and will refuse to take your money. Annoyance is temporary, and the memory of it fades with time. ;) Just follow the guidelines Chuck outlines on the site, and be polite when approaching him. Your experience with this previous content creator may have rattled you, but they aren't Chuck. Chuck is Chuck. And not incidentally, he's the only one who can actually answer your question. So be bold, send him a message or email, or hell, just donate and see what happens. Assuming you can afford it, even if he refuses to review what you requested, remember that its a donation and that the review is his way of showing gratitude for your support of him. Either way, you win in that he can keep making content that you like. Treat the review as a bonus, not a commission. That was his original intent, after all...

Also, he won't do the Twilight movies, and if you ask for a horror film he says he wants to avoid excessive gore. Repo! The Genetic Opera was an outlier because he wasn't properly warned and I remember he found it extremely unpleasant. Though it is Repo! were talking about... Presumably this also extends to TV and anime-- I wouldn't ask him to review Elfen Lied or something like that. ;) Yukaphile knows what I'm talking about...
