In its first weekend, it looks to have already broken even. Cars closed on the thread title.

Domestic Total as of Mar. 10, 2019: $153,000,000
That's not that much. Avengers Infinity War got more than 100 million more than that.
Of course Infinity War brought in more. It was the event the MCU was building up to for the past 10 years.

I don't really see a push for more original female superheroes that obscure. The smiling controversy isn't that big of a deal. And the whole thing about male journalists didn't have anything to do with this or even one of her movies. So this is part of what I'm getting at, is I'm just not following specifically.

I see Chris Pratt drone on quite a bit about his religion quite a bit now in days. That's opposite of left, and potentially just as dry.

It'd help better if you talked about Rightists hanging in the closet instead of leftist privilege. There's sure a good number of outspoken leftists in comparison, but that makes sense when you're in the entertainment industry and not really bound to conservative lifestyle. BTW Robert Downey Jr. is proud conservative after his rehabilitation. I've always got a big impression that Disney is conservative appropriate with stuff. Fox sure isn't in the closet one bit. Bruce Willis, open Trump supporter who didn't particularly get thrown out.

Higher education? You mean like STEM that often time maybe requires some token sociological driven classes as part of gen ed curriculum? Maybe more social science curriculums that talk about how social conditions 25 hours a day. That's kind of where leftist principles cultivate (that don't really fare well in the job market btw). My degree was very bipartisan.
It's incredibly obscure. You think there would giant petitions of the press was not pushing for it? Superheroine walks with thousands of people?

What she said about male journalists fits nicely with the political shit sandwich Disney is pushing.

What does this dronning on quite a bit mean?

Why is speaking out a lifestyle thing exaclty? Also the Right has many variants.

I recall Downey alluding to it once when confronted about it. But not outright saying it. Source?

They wanna see right wingers burn, they just like the child friendly brand.

If Bruce Willis was hot property he would get some the Chris Pratt treatment. Also being a former star gives you some minimum immunity against prog bs. Also he is a DTV guy now and only got to star in his recent movie because long ago he stared in a Shalmayan movie.

I mean what the professors and administrators identify as.
Chris Pratt acceptance speech at the kids choice awards kicked off with a "jesus loves you" bit, not at the end of it but beginning. Then his faith came up in the news, though it was Ellen Paige calling out the institution he's at for being homophobe and he kicked back "jesus loves you." That last part might be a tad exaggerating, and this isn't really that big of a deal, but I notice it about as much when I notice progressive speak.

I think Bruce Willis doesn't get bad attention because he doesn't really slam liberal agendas like Tim Allen was. He's kind of just bitter and quiet, and arguably a bit out of it with regard to his stardom. And you're right though that Bruce Willis and Stephen Baldwin are not hot property or w/ever, but it's still kinda evidence against the strongest groupthink in Hollywood.

I'm not sure if Downey Jr. is conservative actually, he just talked about his rehab turning him less Hollywood lib. and that probably had more to do with the 90's esque social liberal vibe of don't try and stop me from letting my life go down the tube.
And when a progressive says something there is usually 0 backlash.

The man cashes checks and gives no fucks at this point. i had not seen him in his new superhero movie.

Clearly he must have turned away the church of wokeness because he is self destructive. There can be no other explanation...

Whoa, wait a minute... A film headed by a female who causes some controversy before release can still be successful if it is a genuinely good film?

Looks like Ghostbusters 2016 needs to find a new excuse for their failure.

Uh, what a low-blow. Well executed.

As far as bringing more women to the superhero light, I thought this movie did a good job. After a lot of people were clamoring against gender or ethnicity swapping heroes to bring more diversity, putting the effort to make this property showcased like they did originally with the less famous Avengers is a pretty fresh take.

I will say that this could have been a black woman very easily, and that may have been a better choice.
