What a loaded statement. Nobody would dispute that Disney spent money advertising the film, either through normal channels or viral marketing or what have you. I'm sure they even paid people to advertise it through sock accounts on social media or whatever. But until someone provides any sort of evidence that Marvel bribed established critics or bought tickets to their own movie (the latter is especially mindblowingly stupid), then it deserves ridicule as much as any other conspiracy theory.

The stupid thing is, if disney was engaging in the practice of buying off critics, why wouldn't they do it for all their movies? Making it so it's solely marvel movies is a tad ridiculous, especially when their main competition in the comic book movie scene is DC and that is just laughable.

Why is DC laughable? In movies i would not find Warner laughable as Disney at all in 2019. People's tastes change quick, trends come and go within a few years in the movie business.

The closest we could argue to something of that nature was how Ike Perlmutter deemphasized the non-MCU owned properties in comics in order to not promote their competition in Fox. He was also against development of Black Panther and Captain Marvel on the grounds they wouldn’t make money. Since he’s been ousted from Marvel Studios and now Fox is merging, all that is in the past.
