One of the things I love about Chuck's reviews are how his jibes answer questions that pop into my head during the review. Like when Torres' dream dad is giving a speech I'm thinking, "Wait, I recognize this actor, where did I-" and then Chuck chimes in with, "Now let me tell you my plans for the mutant threat." Thing that pick my curiosity is the Neelix theme. I don't realy think he is sincere in this "no tables" policy. It seems more that he is polite, diplomatic since they are surrounded by this aleins. In fact i wonder how many of Neelix admirations of some aliens of the week quirks can be seen as him just beeing diplomatic?

Ironic because I watched this episode when it was listed on the main page and noticed that Davison was in the episode in the guest actor credits. Then watched the Nostalgia Critic episode for X-Men, which he's in. Small world.

Harry and Tom notice that there are no tables and chairs.

Neelix says the aliens don't believe in them.

Chuck says that there technically ARE tables and chairs, just not traditional ones.

Neelix is made fun of and called stupid for what Harry, Tom and the aliens all also believe.

Seems legit.

The only thing I remembered about that episode when it started was the awful alien makeup.

Looks like they have fabric store random textile with cuts in it wrapped around their foreheads.

Sorry if it was explained and I missed it, but who was beaming the thoughts into Torre's head anyways? Did one of the aliens know about the cover up and try to get the word out?

Chuck made a passing comparison to "The Inner Light." Now, this is obviously not that, and it's like comparing a modern Young Adult novel to "Great Expectations," because there's a lot of reasons the latter is outstanding and the former is forgettable.

The one key, however, is that Picard's experiences in "The Inner Light" are as himself. It's not like the guest stars in that episode are super well-rounded and developed personalities. What matters is that the plotline we're following in that episode is focused around a character we have a well-established connection with. It's all about how Picard is interacting with this world and the people in it as the events unfold.

For "Remember," it takes about halfway into the episode to recognize that this isn't just "Violations" all over again, where one of the memory aliens is just mind-raping her. While Torres is experiencing this, she's only experiencing it while she's awake, and her actions in the dreamworld are actually the actions of another character, and we don't care about that character. We can be impressed by Dawson's acting in those scenes but it's just watching the actress in another role, and doesn't connect the people who care about Torres' character into the narrative.

This episode reminded me about the possibility of uploading information into your mind. Now obviously telepathy doesn't seem a plausible to do it, I don't even know if it is plausible to do it in anyway actually. If we figured out how to do this, would schools no longer exist? Would we just upload information into our minds as kids and work as an apprentice somewhere like in earlier times? I know the point is the genocide memory. Oh wait, that's right it's a shared memory. Man this is surreal. I have seen the The Inner Light, and for some reason my mind didn't go to the implications of the memory sharing then but do now. Weird.
