I hope some people are affected by this.

Some people realize how shameful and evil the shooter is.

And some people who realize how heroic and noble the defender was.

Apparently multiple people tried to stop the guy, including the old man at the door of the mosque who welcomed him in thinking he was someone interested in the service, then tried to jump in front of his gun or something when the scumbag opened fire. (I don't know for sure, I didn't watch the video and have no desire to).

I'll say a prayer to any gods that might exist and be listening for the heroes who died trying to stop that racist son of a bitch. They deserve the best afterlife possible. I think the Arabic term is mujahid, one who engages in a struggle worthy of heaven. And that's what they are. Heroes who sacrificed themselves trying to stop a psychopath with delusions of grandeur from harming the innocent. There can be no greater act of heroism.

As for the shooter, throw him in a cell, lose the key, and forget him. He wants notoriety, he wants to be a martyr--let him die alone and unmourned, starving and covered in his own filth decades from now as a crazy old man, having wasted his life on mindless hate. Deny him the laurels and following he lusts for, deny him the power he craves, deny him the legacy he desires, erase him from the memory of humanity.

Death would be too good for that bastard.

The really shitty thing is that the one who finally stopped him, by, you know, shooting back, was arrested, too. The police took damn near 40 minutes to respond. And the really shitty thing is that the way the vast majority of people are doing exactly what this sick bastard wanted them to do.
