How many times do I have to go over the definition of Free Speech with you?
It's about protecting you from being silenced by the government.
This boy did nothing to stop the senator's right to free speech. He's exercising his own right to free speech, as much as a heckler at a night of bad stand-up comedy.

What might be silencing free speech is when this grown-ass man, a man with power in the government, ran after this kid who smashed an egg on him and started beating the shit out of him.

Getting egg on your face is annoying. Getting repeatedly punched by a bigger, stronger, person is assault.

According to Merriam Webster, your definition of free speech is absolutely correct. However, according to Wikipedia:

Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction.

However, if the Klan was retaliation against BLM marches wouldn't you consider that a violation of BLM's rights to freedom of speech?

However, getting egged is assault. Even getting spat on is assault. Getting repeatedly punched by a bigger, stronger person is self defense if the punchee guy started it. Since the assault was an egging, the punches cannot rise to the level of deadly force or grievous bodily harm, but punches or slaps generally don't.

Hate speech isn't real. It's a made up term used to justify censorship. Especially the government kind of censorship that fuzzy pretends to only care about.
