How about you back up that ad hominem some, eh?Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 7:27 amhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JTSAKFDSVwSlash Gallagher wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 6:46 amJan?

I can't help but notice that the same people who keep crying about immigration control being racist largely correspond to the people who claim that women can compete with men athletically at the highest levels and that it's just cultural differences in how boys and girls are brought up that lead to any difference.
As I said, it's simply egalitarian fundamentalist religious fanaticism.

That's a hatefact. You see, it is racist to bring up facts about other cultures or people from other cultures that are inconvenient.Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 8:12 pmWhy does the statistic persist in the United States, where primary school isn't just free, it's mandatory and can lead to arrest if a child does not attend?Worffan101 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 7:06 pmExcept that those "cultural points" were STATISTICS about how many Mexican kids graduate high school, which isn't actually a cultural point but an insinuation that Mexicans are uneducated and/or lazy. If you truly know so little American history that you literally don't see the problem with this, and you're so willfully blind that you're willing to ignore the entirety of Latin American history after I AND the moderator pointed out some of the actual reasons why Mexico and other Latin American countries are in poor economic states, then you need to seriously re-evaluate why the Hell you're doing this discussion.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:03 pmI've already answered those points and that question, Worffan. I gave you cultural points I think might be important, and I backed them up, only to have you first straw man them and then excuse them away. I already said I don't care what people eat, pray to, sing, whatever. You're always going to think I'm racist, and you'll never be able to give objective evidence why. IMHO, "it's always about race" is just your fantasy world where you get to pick the secret motives of people you want to disagree with.Worffan101 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:08 am Tell me, what is so bad about Mexican culture? How exactly will it hurt the USA to have Mexicans or people from Central America arrive en masse? We don't even HAVE a unified culture! The USA has so many different people of so many different origins it isn't even funny. My dad's side is Scots-Irish (lowland Scots who immigrated to Ulster and then to America in the 17th century) Presbyterians going back before the Revolution and my mom's part-Potawatomi and part Saxon German. I'm an atheist whose immediate family celebrates Christmas as a family dinner and present-exchange with no major religious elements, none of us have stepped foot in a church for a decade at least, we ate a mixture of Italian, Thai, and English dishes for most of my childhood, we speak English and play gridiron and regular football both, etc.. How much of that is a unified American cultural tradition? What even IS a unified American cultural tradition? Is there ANY culture that we have failed to adapt, adapt to, and integrate?
Also, the alt-right LOVES to say "I'm not racist, I just don't like their culture!". It's something they picked up from the neocons, and it's been their biggest success story, to the point that it's one of Michael Burnham's arguments for attacking the Klingons in STD.
Don't give me this bullshit, Darth. You have to be better than this.
I'm not going to keep arguing in circles with you. I'll just have to accept that there are some things you either cannot look at objectively or else cannot be honest about. I'm done with you on this one.
This isn't even an argument, this is about you refusing to acknowledge basic facts and defaulting to age-old racist cliches. And yes, I WILL keep using that word, because it's accurate.
What Worffan101 is trying to say here:
is that you are not allowed to notice anything unflattering about people from another culture, unless you can find some way to blame it on white people.Except that those "cultural points" were STATISTICS about how many Mexican kids graduate high school, which isn't actually a cultural point but an insinuation that Mexicans are uneducated and/or lazy.
You can argue about why certain things are true, but to criticize someone for noticing them undercuts your argument. "Racist" "sexist" etc. The only thing that matters is "is it true?"

@G-Man Yeah, because I don't think of women as inferior.

Re: Democrats Want to Make Border Crisis Worse
I'll generally block people not because I find them disagreeable but because talking doesn't do any good.
I've engaged with an actual racist who wanted blacks removed from the U.S. (one way or another) because blacks didn't do the U.S. any good. When I pointed out that blacks have helped to defend the U.S., he said that those would be the first to go. That was my point to stop responding to him, not because he was racist but because talking was useless.
Fuzzy Necromancer is hard-left, and he and I disagree about everything short of the color of the sky, but he's honest and capable of being objective. I've can't recall ever seeing him turn away from actual evidence that contradicts him, and when someone points out a straw man he's never doubled down IIRC. He probably thinks I'm racist, but his argument isn't "you're racist!" I have to respect him, even if it means keeping a bottle of pepto bismol nearby.

Well, that's what you told me once. You weren't talking to me any more for that reason. That's okay, though. I don't mind if someone here isn't talking to me, as you're very professional about it.

I admit I don't have the exact context fo that quote, but it seems like a response to people who, for example, counter claims of anti Muslim policy being racist by saying Muslims aren't a race. It's technically true, but also q limp wrister defense of religious persecution.Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:14 pmAlexandria Ocasio-Cortez:G-Man wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:08 pm That's a hatefact. Coming from the group that endlessly shits on Christians for the exact same things, that's rich. Let's face it. Progressives only defend Islam because its followers brown non-europeans (mostly)Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 2:19 pmI admit I don't have the exact context fo that quote, but it seems like a response to people who, for example, counter claims of anti Muslim policy being racist by saying Muslims aren't a race.
