Re: Illegal Border Crossings Surge
Helped out by the traitors on the left who know what his brand of "populism" means, but want to help foment it anyway to breed their dreamed-of "revolution," so sick of the system they wanna burn it down, thinking it will lead to something better, something nicer, perhaps even the paradise they dream of, but nope - it will just breed more suffering and chaos like all revolutions and collapses throughout history, and they'll wish they had the "status quo" back again...

It is questionable whether illegal aliens are really less criminal than the average American citizens.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:41 pm You see border crossings as a security crisis, I see the continued existence of an exploitable underclass, especially with those that had no choice in coming here, to be a humanitarian crisis. The fact that the US has played such a large part in destabilizing South and Central America makes me sympathetic to them especially when statistically immigrants, including undocumented and removal immigrants commit crime at a lower rate than US citizens. I'm willing to shell out for more security, but only hand in hand with alleviating the crisis our foreign policies has had a huge hand in creating.

And I do not want the U.S. to be destabilizing these countries. I'd be willing to alleviate these problems with more foreign aid, help, etc., if we had a way to get it to actually help, and if I had assurance that I would get cooperation on border security. I am not willing to become the dumping ground for their surplus population.
B.S. Latinos are far more liberal on almost every issue than whites. Their opinion on gay rights mirrors the population as a whole, although they are slightly more conservative on abortion. https://prospect.org/article/myth-buste ... servativesDraco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:41 pmAdditionally the primary reason that the often socially conservative, and very religious Latino community breaks in favor of the democrats is that the GOP has a core group that is deeply racist due to absorbing the the anti-black and anti-immigrant Dixiecrats as part of the southern strategy.
They favor gun control more strongly than blacks or whites.

They are more liberal than the American average on economic/tax issues as well.

The idea that Latinos are naturally conservative and that the only reason they vote for the Democrats is that they want more immigration and the GOP doesn't is completely false. It's pretty much entirely based on the fact that Latinos tend to be more religious and are somewhat more conservative on the single issue of abortion. It's a complete myth.
Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 1:41 pmIf y'all cared about securing the boarder so much maybe y'all shouldn't have let the TEA party kill the gang of eight deal.
G-Man wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 2:29 pmThere is no reason to believe that the Gang of Eight deal would have led to better border security. The security measures were to happen after the amnesty, so there is no reason to believe that those measures would not be stopped as soon as the illegal aliens were given legal status. And we should not have to accept vastly increased legal immigration and mass amnesty as the price for the government DOING ITS JOB.
Lots of them didn't. And the security measures were deliberately designed in the bill so that they could be delayed or dismissed. The fact of the matter is, past experience shows that the security never happens after the amnesty gets through. So whatever rationalizations you have for why this time will be different, there is no reason to believe you.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 1:41 pmThere is plenty of reason to believe that, namely that the GOP had the House, and would go on to reclaim the senate within two years. Unless you're saying that the GOP doesn't really care about border security and would turn it's back on it immediately.
So basically, Draco, you are basically telling Charlie Brown to trust Lucy, because this time she really isn't going to pull the football away.
If border security is NOT important to Democrats then they are traitors who should not be in office. The fact that you think that those who want border security should have to trade something to get one of the basic functions of government done shows that you really do not have any sense of loyalty to the United States.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 1:41 pm As I was told many times during the Obama years, the government is built to work on compromise so if border security is important to the Republicans they need to find something to trade for it.

I know a Mexican born and raised here, family came here illegally, who tends to think like you do, G-Man. He's no loyal Democrat or liberal, not by a long shot. But he does come from Arizona.

Well then as the party that shut down the government for over a month the Republican Party, and especially the TEA Party and Trump are traitors to the nation. Also we didn't elect the man that destroyed the Paris Peace talks, thus costing the US Vietnam War, as president. Nor did we vote in the man that sold weapons to the Iranians to fund some of the drug wars that have lead to the instability in central America. And we sure as hell didn't elect the man working with the Russian Government to defraud the American people.G-Man wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 3:08 am If border security is NOT important to Democrats then they are traitors who should not be in office. Re: Illegal Border Crossings Surge
I mean, JESUS CHRIST. Not everyone who crosses illegally is a criminal, G-Man! Get your head out of your ass! And the Democrats DID offer an increase in funding for border security. But Trump didn't take it! He wants his political wall that's going to endanger 93 species, displace many of our native citizens, and accomplish nothing because they'll just tunnel through or go through the water. And border security, like national security, isn't the only thing going on in this country! That's why compromise is so important. Give a little, take a little. I know "stopping dem horrible brown people" from crossing the border illegally and bringing their "rape and drug culture" here is an issue near and dear to your heart, but not everyone feels that way! That doesn't make them TRAITORS! Could you be any more of a stubborn ass?!

But many would rather die, sir!
Then let them, and decrease the surplus population!

Re: Illegal Border Crossings Surge
So, do you support birth control then, G-Man? And abortion? And sex education? Because that will help decrease the population. It's also white families, not Latinos, that are the ones dropping in birth rates, because they can afford easier access to those things. The poor and impoverished can't. I suppose you'd agree with the asshole who screamed "LET THEM DIE!" when sneering at Obamacare at that Republican rally and that got huge applause from the crowd...

Well, they're not a criminal to the same extent as a sex abuser murderer was my point. But yeah, that was kinda stupid...

G-Man, immigrants, legal or not, aren't the same as an army.
You're a typical conservative. Disagree with you on your hot-button issues, and it's as good as treason. Disagree with your party's elected officials, and it's disloyal. But lynch Obama in effigy, and there's crickets.
I don't know whether you honestly believe that people don't come here fleeing for there lives, or if you've convinced yourself that it's an act, or if you just don't think their lives are really important because they are some evil hoard seeking to destroy your pristine american culture.
Democrats don't have an evil scheme to flood the country with immigrants who will vote democrat because they don't need to. We already have the numbers, and it's only by the gerrymandering, voter suppression, and outright voter fraud that Republicans are able to maintain power over a population they do not represent.
