It's also funny you call it DISCO, because you know the proper abbreviation would be STD, and even if you like the show, you gotta admit it's very facepalming for the creators to not think through that that was what the acronym would be. Then again, it's not the first time people in charge of the series have failed to think things through.

If the abbr. for Voyager is VOY and Enterprise is ENT, then it would follow that Discovery is DIS. Besides that, the Picard series is apparently Destiny, so STD would become ambiguous soon.

And no one ever referred to them as STV or STE. The official abbreviation is actually DSC, much like how VGR was for VOYAGER, though again most fans just start off with the first three letters. It’s what Memory Alpha goes by. Even Chuck, as we’ve seen with his reviews.

So Yukaphile, you’re simply wrong claiming STD is the “proper” abbreviation.

I call it DISCO because it just sounds more funky.

Skirts just aren't terribly practical

I tend to disagree. Pants are better for certain tasks, no question, but otherwise skirts are perfectly serviceable. I suggest wearing (a long) one at some point, especially in summer. I do that regularly, except when being at work or when venturing out into the wilds with my drone and my bike.

Except that you risk overexposing yourself with a skirt when you could just wear shorts. Of course you're talking to someone who very rarely ever wears shorts, too.

I've worn shorts sometimes, mainly in summer. It's easier and more comfy. Where I live, it gets to be 88 F or so in summer.

Lots of mosquitoes where I come from. And since I grew up mostly in the middle of nowhere, well, I never cared for the feeling of long grass and weeds on my bare legs. Especially if I ever came across thistle.
