Fascinating. Just fascinating. https://screenrant.com/star-trek-discov ... tflix-cbs/
There was a report that suggested that Netflix covered the entire production cost of Star Trek Discovery for exclusive international streaming rights.

ENT, the show that (in the first season) used every excuse to have scantly clad people rub oil on each other, was only playing to trek fans and not trying to approach a wider audience?Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 12:49 am He may be referring to a post where I said that CBS is looking to expand beyond the fan base, which I explained is something EVERY studio has done because Trek can’t survive on the only playing to the Trek fan base alone, as ENT proved. Not every viewer that tuned into Trek was watching it purely out of world building. That’s just somehing hardcore fans like us would be more interested in. Ultimately viewers will tune in for the characters and what adventures they go on. This is why that Onion video was spot on.

Funny you should bring that up. When I heard they gave the Klingons twin junk, my first thought it was written by men, because it conforms to the specific kind of adolescent attitude people stereotype to male sci-fi fans.
And before you go over that again, let me say this: Dr. Russell was clearly describing internal organs. Not dangly bits. Otherwise, why doesn't Worf and every other Klingon have two noses, four eyes and four ears? Or twenty fingers on one hand? The reason is clear. This was written by giggly men who'd love to have two dicks themselves so they could do it with two women at the same time. Are you shocked? It's written by the same numb nut who helped give us the Transformers movies! You know, teen hormone problems? Yeah, because if Enterprise was any indication, the real failure was that we need to double down on being sexually immature frat boys.

I was meaning the fourth season, which as good as it was felt a little too insular like it was made by and for the fans.Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:34 amENT, the show that (in the first season) used every excuse to have scantly clad people rub oil on each other, was only playing to trek fans and not trying to approach a wider audience?Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 12:49 am He may be referring to a post where I said that CBS is looking to expand beyond the fan base, which I explained is something EVERY studio has done because Trek can’t survive on the only playing to the Trek fan base alone, as ENT proved.
