Mueller Investigation Notes

Post by Fuzzy Necromancer »

Trump is likely going to do everything possible to cover up any kind of corruption he can be formally charged over and worm his way out of responsibility, but no matter how hard he and his fans call the Mueller investigation “bullshit” or “pointless” or a “witch hunt,” it already lead to the formal indictment of 34 people over the last two years. It already isn’t bullshit because it already accomplished the kind of thing it set out to do 34 fucking times, even if it doesn’t manage to touch the guy at the top of it all.

It all reminds me so much of the Birther movement in that it was basically driven entirely by the fantasy that they could somehow undo the Presidency of someone they didn't want to have won.

The primary difference being that one has lead to a significant number of arrests while the other has not.

Which might actually make it worse considering how corrupt this "investigation" has been. It has been transparently partisan from the start.

Because nothing says corrupt like an investigation spearhead by a man that left a lucrative private practice because he felt uncomfortable protecting the guilty and nothing says partisan like a guy that's been appointed to a position by every president from Reagan to Obama. Robert Mueller was appointed a federal procecutor by Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton, named head of the FBI by Bush II, and given a two year extension on that position by Obama and initially the GOP was actually quite supportive of the investigation until it actually started turning up crimes.

25 of those 32 indictments are a bunch of untouchable Russian national trolls that cannot be traced back to the Kremlin in any way.

But sure, over 2 years under false pretenses getting anyone but the main target mostly over things that occurred before Trump even announced his running is a "success"

One, what false pretenses? Two that's still over half a dozen criminals, including multiple people in the pockets of foreign governments, working for the Trump administration.

Edit:
I'm sorry it's actually an even dozen you're 5 indicted individuals short.

I'm glad the investigation took place. Regardless of the intentions, which we'll never know for sure, at least now we'll be done with people claiming Trump colluded with Russia.
