Why is this particular form of marketing more annoying to you more than other types of marketing? It's all cynical, but that's big studios in general. Also since you're discounting situations where movie staff are asked about it in interviews or are talking about the creative process, I don't see how that leaves a lot left over for you to even get annoyed at. TLJ, for example, had basically none of that in its posters, trailers, etc.
