Well, explain me this: How did the two brothers come from being personal trainers and being paid for their services a few days prior, to a gay-ambushing, cos-playing nigerian mini-gang?
I'll admit that given their background as nigerians, they might have an anti-gay based motivation, but how do they get from being seemingly on friendly terms with one of their paying customers to attacking said customer with no further potential gain?

That happens all the time in real life. Quite a lot of attacks against gays in RL come from people they know casually versus complete strangers.

Not that it's impossible that a gay man might beat up another gay man for being gay; people are weird. But going out on a very cold Chicago night to do it does seem, at the very least, remarkably inefficient.

This case is one of the more stranger spectacles that I can think of to happen. At the base of everything it seems like a city-level conspiracy to defame someone with the guise of a right-wing hate crime, but has turned into a storm of propaganda and reaction on both sides. If it is a conspiracy then it's really poignant for Smollett, but the reactions by the right, left, police department and state's office(?) is hysterically dramatic.

JK. It's not that far fetched. The most questionable aspect would maybe be that they're from Nigeria considering alt-right might question their inhabiting, but it's not like alt-right is a domestically ridden movement within the United States. I don't know about Nigeria but Britain's got a quite a bit of that. As far as being black and gay, there's definitely people with those attributes that voted for Trump, and quite possibly have disdain for liberal Hollywood, and I guess are familiar with Empire.

Then again, I've been wrong about people before. Not often, but it happened. Fun fact, that left one has exactly the same face as a former boss of mine. Nice guy, not particularly bright. Also, more white and not such a flat and wide nose, but besides that, yeah. Twins.

Does anyone else think it is weird that a high-profile "lynching" was attempted just before a bill to make lynching a federal crime was introduced into Congress, a bill who signing is a major part of launching two presidential campaigns (Booker and Harris)? Then, after evidence emerges that this was a set-up, the guy who allegedly sets it up up gets off with essentially a slap on the wrist and the case file is sealed?
