So, for those of you who have been blissfully ignorant so far, I have some Lovecraftian forbidden knowledge to force into your brains.
There was a grown ass man, selling diet products, who claimed that healthy women aren't supposed to menstruate and that semen used to be green. He also asserted that menstruation is damage caused by having sex at night instead of during the day.

There are people, including grown-ass WOMEN, who buy this stuff.

Re: Dr Sebi's Legacy
People believe a god who repeatedly sanctioned murder and comitted multiple atrocities and genocides, is somehow a loving and good god who wants your best. Lovecraft is real. Deities indeed do make people go mad. Nothing is surprising once you realized that.

I guess your more jaded than be because it still blows my fucking mind some of the nonsense people believe about menstruation. Deities and their divine plans are a pretty lofty and abstract matter to contemplate, whereas blood-jello coming out of your hoo-ha every month is about as concrete and down-to-earth as you can get.

I'm always surprised that there are people who still think the Earth is flat, but there it is.

At least some people can claim lack of knowledge as an excuse, at least to a degree. Like Wedgius here. I assume the Captain is male and his intimate knowledge of women is clearly either only based off one woman with really bad health or no women at all. So he can bring forth the excuse that the only really intimate knowledge of the female body he ever had and thus not knowing that menstrual blood is blue is, that the closest he ever got to a woman's body was the contact he had with Lefty and Righty.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 10:45 pm I guess your more jaded than be because it still blows my fucking mind some of the nonsense people believe about menstruation. On the other hand, I have to assume that basically every non-sociopathic human is aware of the fact, that hurting other people or even killing them is bad. And yet they are supposed to believe that a god who does exactly that is somehow good.
One group of people has the excuse of lacking knowledge and being stupid. The other group has no excuse. One of the two are ignorant and stupid, but not necessarily willfully so. The other group has to engage in active mental gymnastics to explain to themselves and the world, that 1 equals 2, something which not even the former group would accept under any circumstance.
Oh and Wedgius? Just a hint: Too much contact with Lefty and Righty makes people go blind, like badly distilled alcohol did to your Uncle Bubba, so be careful with these two.

I agree with Kami. To an atheist, none of this is surprising. Adam and Eve, green love juice. It's all the same.

I'm just doing as nature intended. Did you know that the grip strength between men and women only overlap like 10%? That's good exercise, that is!Madner Kami wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 8:45 am...Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 10:45 pm I guess your more jaded than be because it still blows my fucking mind some of the nonsense people believe about menstruation. Of course it isn't, it's supposed to taste like candy canes.
I should know, mine does. That's not a lie, it's an alternative fact, just like this alternative medicine.

I mean, a lot of this is funny, but you have to remember the guy also claimed he could cure HIV. =/
