Wouldn't you be happier in Canada? It has universal health care, too, no second amendment, and less in the way of that pesky free speech that the regressive left despises so much. It is also not Hecate-damned, which I assume to be a bonus.
Even if I take as given that the press is misleading in this respect, that just makes them an enemy of 45, not the nation as a whole. Calling people somebody an "enemy of the people" for bad-mouthing you is what a foaming-at-the-mouth tinpot dictator does.

Furthermore, I don't think deceptive use of quotes or focusing on which parts of 45 the mass murderer is a fanboy of is indicative that an institution as vast or heterogenous as The Press.

Re Canada, are you going to pay for my moving fees? Because even though almost all the people I know and love are hear, and I don't know how difficult the immigration process is, and I'd have to find out if any of my job skills in my rather specialized field translate to the Canadian job market, it sounds pretty yiffing tempting to me.

I mean, I'm no fan of Trump, and it galls me to think this proves the very regressive left people here speak of correct (that we shouldn't focus on Trump, that it's not a witch hunt, that there weren't legitimate basis to those fears), but come on. I'm convinced he wasn't working with Russia, though I think he really underestimates them. Badly. I also find the Libertarian view that "they're trying to prevent a war with us..." to be really stupid, tbh. They constantly flex their "nuclear" muscles and boast about how big and strong they are. Yes, it's immature male posturing, but at the same time, let's not forget this is THREATENING TO MURDER MILLIONS OF UNARMED AND INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO CAN'T EVEN PICK UP A WEAPON IN DEFENSE. I mean, they'd have to be stupid not to see how that could escalate tensions. Threatening mass murder... other nations could take that a wee bit personally.

If the press is misleading the people, isn't it acting as the enemy of the people? If a plumber comes in and tells me he has a sacred duty to make sure my toilet works, claims special plumber privileges as a guardian of my well-being, and then bills me an unnecessary thousand dollars after finding dihydrogen monoxide in my pipes, he's made himself my enemy.

As far as Trump being a fan of mass murder, I'm sure you have solid evidence for that.

As far as me paying for your trip to Canada goes... Sorry. I can try crowd-funding that, but then you'd have to give me private details that I don't think you should really hand out to random assholes on the internet such as myself. Or George Soros might be able to help, he's been known to help refugees get around.

As far as the press not being a monolithic entity of one mind... You're right. Trump should have been more precise.

Let me clarify, I'm not saying 45 is a mass murderer, I was referring to the ChristChurch shooter being a fan of him in some respects but not others (saying he's a symbol for white power but also saying he doesn't agree with the man's politics.)

Thank you for that clarification.

This is the weakest Left ever. I want a better political operative as president.

From journalist Matthew Yglesias's twitter:
Nobody likes to give themselves credit for this kind of messaging success, but progressive groups did a really good job of convincing people that Trump raised their taxes when the facts say a clear majority got a tax cut.

I think Matthew is wrong on that one, but finding one particular tax cut statement on politifact is...difficult.

I'm pretty sure having most people see maybe 5 extra dollars a pay check, but a smaller return check at the end of the year was the biggest factor in it. Really if they were smart they would have adjusted the withholding tables so people would actually see a dollar or two less each pay check, and maximize the effect on the tax return at the end of the year.
