Should Season 1 TNG be considered "canon?"

I mean, as far as that's concerned we'll see if Chuck ends up hating Discovery at some point- after all, he grew to hate Into Darkness when initially he was actually slightly positive in that first video he made of it. I imagine Chuck will eventually do a second run at Discovery reviews and do his usual 1-10 scale when the show's over in 2 or 3 years or whatever.

But personally, I just don't see Chuck hating Discovery. I can see him disliking it maybe, but I don't see him giving it the same bile as, say, early ENT, because no matter how much you hate DIS, only someone who's trying to project their own negativity onto it would say it's not a genuine effort at making a show, and given what Chuck has said in the past, he tends to give the benefit of the doubt when that's the case (See: S4 ENT). Compare that to shit like Shadows of P'jem or A Night in Sickbay and there's just no way Discovery can compare to the sheer disdain for the audience that show reached.
