FYI: The internet exists in real life. It is not separate from. It is not a sandbox filled with AI that go away when you turn it off.

I see this sentiment about an imagined dichotomy between "real life" and "on the web" a lot, and I think it's a bad premise that we all buy into more than we should.

The anonymity makes it seem less like reality, because you could hide lies more easily. It's a shadowy place.
