45's trans military ban goes into effect

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. Violators will be turned over to Captain Janeway for experimentation.

As glib as he's being about it, I admit there is a part of me that kinda agrees, but I won't let my anti-militarism get in the way of advocating for every one of us having the equal right to register to die for the state that doesn't actually care about you. :|
There are certain conditions that can make it so that someone is only gets called up if the US is invaded...
Which will never happen.
You say that because...

Because no one on Earth is stupid enough to invade the US directly. Not Russia, not China, not North Korea, no one. Your conventional weapons alone would flatten them before they got near, and if those are not enough, then welcome to the Fallout universe. There is a reason why despite the bluster of other foreign leaders the only people you fight nowadays are sand dwellers with a box of AKs and a few Toyota pick ups between them. There is a reason why no one has come along and tried to start another empire since the old ones died.
And all of this is completely missing the fact that the future of warfare is computerised. Men on the ground are going to be increasingly secondary to drones, satellites, AI, the hacking of key infrastructure.

There will never be another war that requires a draft as long as the US remains at its current level of power. You can rest easy that a few less people being able to join your military will have any effect whatsoever.

And Gore won the popular vote. Yet we got eight years of Bush nevertheless, didn't we?

Is that replying to me? Because I fail to see the correlation between your electoral system being set up wrong and nuclear war.
