Heh. It always amazes me what qualifies as 'rich.' My wife and I have planned carefully for our kids' educations...assuming they don't do anything crazy, they will graduate with no student debt. We have good retirement plans and savings, so we shouldn't be any burden on them, and since we've always lived as if we only had one income even though we have two, we might even be able to throw a down payment for a house their way at some point as well.
So woohoo! We're rich! Who would have thought that a government wage slave and a part-time structural engineer could break into the top?

Yeah but it helps to have an article to spell it out. And even then, you still get some people who go all "all you need to be financially successful is to be thrifty and make good life choices, like me! "

I mean that DOES help a great deal, but it still boils down to a damned crapshoot.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 11:28 pm Yeah but it helps to have an article to spell it out. (For reference: I'm almost twenty-three and have turned to government assistance to find a job after nearly FOUR YEARS of job hunting.)

Not all millenials my cousins were well off but they had to work for anything (my aunt who worked her way up influenced this)

My point is they had to work their asses off in school to get into their respective careers. (A teacher ad A nurse).

It's almost like we live in a country with ridiculously low social mobility.
