Police are there to serve the system, not you individually. Sure, if you've done things properly in your life, odds are your interests will align with those of the system most of the time, but you are always expendable, so keep that in mind.

If you're black, and you see the police coming, you're fucked either way. If you run, they'll shoot you for fleeing the scene. If you try to leave quietly, they'll yell at you then shoot you for trying to flee the scene. If you stick around, they'll arrest you and shoot you for resisting arrest.

If you're a Hell's Angel, they'll have a drink or two with you, apologize for the inconvenience of stopping a fight between two rival white 1%er biker gangs, and let you text your family to explain why you were on the news for busting up a bar while they go jaw with each other over coffee and donuts.

No, not really.

The idea that the police don't shoot white people is somewhat overstated. Plenty of white people get shot by cops every year, including ones that are unarmed and begging for their lives. It IS true that black people are much more likely to be shot when looking at base population numbers, but as usual, it's more complicated than just 'cops hate black people.' After all, black cops shoot black suspects all the time; presumably they aren't all self-hating racists.
