My impression was that the deal with Disney stipulated that only certain things remained canon while the EU and maybe the games were nixed. The games or something else might have stayed.

Oh yeah, Clone Wars was left in. Really not sure about LucasArt games.

Disney has Star Wars and the Muppets, so this could be canon now:

Can I see it? Yes.
Should they? No.
This franchise has been through enough torture at their hands.

George insisted his six movies remain canon, he didn't want them rebooted, cuz he knew they would. That said, while Lucas always rejected Legends, he also was enthusiastic about fan projects, and those in charge of Legends were just that, so it's not like he never cared. Lucas is kind of like Toriyama, very forgetful, tbh. He's said many inconsistent stuff, as Chuck has proven. Legends had layers of canon, and it still does in the timeframe it occupies.

The new canon can have Clone Wars. Good riddance.

Well what Legends has about Clone Wars is very different to what it become to be like in prequels and both Clone Wars cartoons (one from Samurai Jack's creator and CGI one). All at least little that was written about it in book series like Thrawn Trilogy was very different because back then no one really knew what was going to be Lucas' vision of it. Over all while I like Thrawn Trilogy (it's my favorite Legends book series) personally I prefer official take on Clone Wars.

Idunno though. I watched those heroes journeys videos a handful of times by now, and while it's pertinent information, I'm not sure if you can really say that Lucas was meaning something other than he was saying.

Mecha82 wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 8:43 pm I could be mistaken but I had impression that Legends/EU was never canon because George Lucas said so because based on him back then only movies were canon. Logic with that was that Legends/EU material wasn't his vision of SW but vision of those other people.
There were levels of canon.

The new canon sucks so bad it needs Clone Wars to prop it up.
