Does anybody know why this is even talked about?
It was controversial when Richard Spencer got punched by Antifa, but it seems like the same argument is being pushed here except it's not in America and the stakes are overall less.

I don't think it's violent, but I don't think there's any warrant for any type of harassment.clearspira wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:08 pmThe only ones on here making this a left and right issue is you and the guy who made the post. I guess ''not being violent to others just because I disagree with them'' is wrongthink now? I dunno man, you are not looking good out of this one.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:01 pmLittle known fact: getting any dairy product spilled on your shirt is going to paralyze your vocal chords. It's amazing the kind of stuff right-wingers will decry as "violence" while also accusing the left of being a bunch of hyper-sensitive snowflakes and crybabies.
The only sane reaction is for the people with handcuffs and government authority to tell restaurant owners to deny service to people whose politics they disagree with!

I guess literal spilled milk counts as violence now?

We have a different attitude here in Britain. Punch or milkshake is not really the point, the fact you attacked someone is. That is why the man in question has been arrested for assault.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:09 pm Does anybody know why this is even talked about?

The fact that an MP got stabbed to death a few years ago still weighs heavily too.

If its in someone's face deliberately, yes. Because again, its not spilled milk we are talking about.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:26 pm I guess literal spilled milk counts as violence now?

May I humbly suggest that no conservative in the UK ever go into Stand-up comedy as a career?

So you guys arrested him. Why is it still being talked about though?clearspira wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:32 pmWe have a different attitude here in Britain. Nobody should be doing that, but treating it as if this guy was in any danger is stupid.

Let's see... straw man, ignoring the point, then another straw man.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:01 pmLittle known fact: getting any dairy product spilled on your shirt is going to paralyze your vocal chords. It is literally violence, albeit mild violence, and against people the milkshakers disagree with, in order to discourage them from speaking, is it not? What's funniest is those decrying fascism while evincing far more totalitarian characteristics of their own, unaware of the irony.

I agree that that wasn't a very compelling argument when you consider the premises and conclusion, Fuzzy.

Yeah, food fights are the primary means that fascist regimes use to crush all dissent and stay in power.
Look, if you threw a milkshake at me, or a tomato, or even a hardboiled egg, I would not press charges for assault. I wouldn't considered myself attacked. I'd be annoyed.
That's what annoyance is, Darth. It's something you have to do a load of laundry to fix. It's not a parasite leeching your bone marrow for nine months.
