It looks like they want to build an airport near Machu Picchu. They're not going to build an airport on their biggest tourist draw.

Okay, they just want to build it near enough to endanger the very site that draws tourists against the protests of archeologists because everyone is about short-term benefit at the expense of the long term these days. Happy?

Happier now that it's more accurate. Though drawing more tourists is somethin I'd count as a long-term benefit.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 6:13 am Okay, they just want to build it near enough to endanger the very site that draws tourists against the protests of archeologists because everyone is about short-term benefit at the expense of the long term these days. Fuzzy if you get annoyed by being corrected then stop masking simple mistakes. Either read the damned articles or, if you are, then be honest about what they say.

So they want to build airport near archeological, cultural and historical sight just so they can profit more. Why I am not surprised by this news.
