Picard series discussion
Okay, figured I'd drop this early, for not only the trailer, but all relevant "Picard" series related news. The "what is your worst fear" should be included here. That said, I think it's practically a minor miracle that now I feel cautiously hopeful about this endeavor. Seriously. I know lots of people will probably complain about Picard being so dark, but you know what? I don't mind, if done well. Like, say, if he's more like Sisko at times than he is in TNG. That, I feel, should be the benchmark for his characterization. I just hope it's not more Mark Hamill style "the galaxy needs me, I made it worse, so I need to run away bullshit," but I do think they've seen how badly that worked out with Star Wars, and will approach this cautiously. I mean, I do think these newer writers are going out of their way to try and crap on all our old heroes and these older franchises, but... it really depends on how "dark" Picard gets. Because that Rambo style action hero shtick is not Picard at all. I guess it depends. Still, I'm mostly... 20% hopeful. That's no small feat.

Re: Picard series discussion
Currently we don't really know enough about this one to have conversation that doesn't include just pure speculation. That said we already saw Picard as action focused character in Nemesis and it didn't work at all so hopefully they won't try to do it again. It would be Netflix Death Note all over again.

Re: Picard series discussion
Sure, but remember, this is for when it finally lands. So all related news should come here.

Re: Picard series discussion
Then just continue with the other Picard thread, instead of just making another pointless thread. You were already talking about what you wanted to talk about there.
You really need to dial down on constantly making new threads of the same subject.

Re: Picard series discussion
This is not about the fears related to it, I'm trying to create a new "Picard series" all-news thread. Which includes episodes and so on...

That's what the other thread is now.
Might as well lock this up.

Re: Picard series discussion
It's for the trailer... when the actual series lands, wouldn't you prefer a thread for it? Rather than creating a new one? given how much I spawn new threads? Arguably to the point very few comment in it, cuz they get overwhelmed?
