Alabama bans abortion

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. Violators will be turned over to Captain Janeway for experimentation.

Then it depends on if they're misogynistic. Though I'm starting to wonder something... those on the religious right with the power to make a lot of people's lives hell... I am wondering if this is related to something Chuck talked about, how, on this one issue, you know, sexual arousal, for those interested in vore, he and those who love it might as well be from different planets. I wonder if that some disconnect applies to those pushing a forced birth agenda, in their complete lack of empathy for women who will be forced to bear it.

He's a lot better than the egocentric young Libertarian I know on Discord.

Also, laws against preventing bank robbery are just to oppress people unless you're willing to give the would-be robbers whatever money they wanted out of the bank.

They really need to teach logic in high school.
I mean, pro-life is a pretty broad assertion to make. For example, if you claim to be pro-life but support the death penalty, it'd be pretty reasonable for people to call you a hypocrite.
It would be reasonable, though being in favor of something rarely means being in favor of it in all circumstances. I'm generally pro-puppy, but in favor of spaying and neutering.

But you can argue that spaying and neutering isn't really a form of harm to puppies, and thus doesn't contradict the pro-puppy stance. You aren't actively calling for puppies to be culled.

But if you say you're pro-life and support the death penalty, there's little way you could honestly be described as anything but a hypocrite.

Remember that long post about how the unborn are a convenient group the advocate for? It's not a sneaky little "gotcha, you don't support this ONE aspect of life so you aren't really pro-life!" It's saying "The entire span of your alleged pro-life advocacy seems to begin and end with fetuses, so maybe you aren't as pro-life as you are. Maybe you're just anti-abortion."

Tbf, Fuzzy, we're all hypocrites. Some to more degrees than others. I think more people need to be honest about this.

Which is fine, if more people were honest about being anti-choice. But, you know, that sounds politically negative, so we don't do it.

Getting back on topic, I just feel... so numb. About the new abortion ban. I really think some days there just isn't any point in going on. The world never changes, and people won't stop being beastly to others. History keeps repeating, and hatred spreads, and war keeps going. This is not healthy. The world is just broken glass. Makes you wonder about Biblical events, huh? Like maybe God punished us because he could see this is exactly what would happen once we got knowledge. Ignorance is bliss, after all.

This shit has challenged my faith too, a lot, particularly in Hecate.

One thing I'm trying to do to deal with that is volunteering to stand outside of planned parenthood and defend the people who come in where abortions are still legal from the protesters who would threaten them. That's another way I express my faith.
