I personally only support it as a stopgap until we can get battery tech in a decent place to make the renewables more practical.
Like I said before, it's still better than the fossil fuels.

I don't see much point in renewables other than a stopgap until we can get enough nuclear reactors built (which in turn should be a stopgap until fusion arrives, but I'll believe that when I see it, which is unlikely to happen unless I live to 500).
