So, I don't know that much about tariffs and trade wars, but I know that even the Republicans are getting upset with Neelix on this one.

Afaik your car-industry is 100% reliant on mexican imports. Almost every single part is made down there. Good luck with substituting that with local non-existant production and a workforce lacking the skills. It takes years to build that capacity and skill.
