Or maybe just plain interracial tension? Like aside from considerable power dynamics that tend to fixate more on issues with white dominance?

I count it among the most despicable things I have ever done to another human being and I'm sorry.
Things I have requested that are not evil:
* Anna's Quest
* Contradiction

I can, because it's just a rationalization. I'll do you one better by firing one right back at you. I can't fault this logic. But I bet one of y'all can.

And that's why people with diabetes should stop taking insulin. That's... kinda nebulous, logically speaking.
Truth be told though, I love the analogy ProDet put forth.

@Riedquat No. I just wished it didn't matter.

Re: The Straight Pride Parade
I don't, because one does not follow from the other. It's a logical fallacy of the most basic level. Plus, we don't have soup-kitchens for the rich (argueably we do, if you consider "soup-kitchen" as a metaphor, but that is a different can of worms) because (I have to assume that to get any sort of sense out of the context) the rich do not need them, so straight people do not need a pride parade. Why? Why is one form of sexuality being portrayed publically and being drawn attention to in public inherently pride-worthy and another not? And if you even begin to form an arguement of the kind of "Gays are an opressed minority, so showing them publically is helping normalize them as their sexuality does not harm anyone", then I have to ask: What do you think how people are going to react to Vore Pride Parades? Or Guro Pride Parades? Or let's be less extreme and say a Waifu Pillow Parade?BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 8:54 am That's... kinda nebulous, logically speaking.

Beyond that, people feel pride about the most wierd things in my perception and the general public is fine with that even if there is logically no reason to be proud about something. I'll just say: Sports. Or Nationalities. Unless you are an important statesman shaping the policies of your country or are an active sports-man who won the superbowl, you have no reason to be proud of "your" sports-team or your nationality. Yet you get looked at funny if you point this basic problem out and I am almost 100% certain, that you do take pride in something that you have absolutely no agency in yourself.

Re: The Straight Pride Parade
We don't have soup kitchens for the rich because they can afford soup - OK, that makes sense. But how does that correlate with the reason why we don't have straight pride parades?Rasp wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 5:21 amHa I'm keeping that one.ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 10:52 pm 'There's no "Straight Pride", for the same reason we don't have soup kitchens for the rich'.

Straight people can afford to be straight? No that can't be it because there are many rich homosexuals and many poor heterosexuals.
Straight people are not proud of being straight the same way people are not proud of going to soup kitchens? No that can't be it because many people are proud of being straight.
Straight people are proud of being straight the same way people of proud of going to soup kitchens? No that can't be it either because no one is proud of having no money to the point of needing a soup kitchen.
It does not work. Imo this is one of those lines that sounds profound until you actually apply logic to it and then it isn't.

Re: The Straight Pride Parade
Because straight people were until recently seen as more normal, because that's how we reproduce, that's how kids are born, and traditional pride parades were the normalization of gay people.
