Re: British government now issuing blunt knives...
Because we're paranoid. We fear government outreach, often citing the Nazis in cases where it makes no sense, and fear they're coming to take away all we love, and control us. It doesn't help that the hypocrites in charge do wanna regulate things, but it's all the wrong stuff. Guns, that murder people? Eh, whatever. A vagina that is the source of life and brings men and women so much joy? HOLY SHIT, WE GOTTA CONTROL THAT! And excuse me while I'm off hiding behind the water cooler at Capitol Hill touching myself.

So house-sizes have what exactly to do with murder-rates?

Exactly as much as murder rates have to do with NRA being an agent of the plutocracy.

You are spinning a wierd argument there. Having ready access to and lax regulations about projectile-weaponry does have a lot to do with murder-rates.

I don't think we're actually arguing with each other at all. My reply was to Yuka, not to you, and I suspect your initial stat wasn't meant for me either.
I mean, I'm all about having a discussion regarding murder rates by country if you like, but that's not the point I was making. I was just saying that although both the UK and US have problems, neither one is a 'broken' nation, and I suspect both of them are pretty nice places to live all things considered.

I felt you were refering to me, given I was the one who provided that statistic and you made the point that the statistic is meaningless.

It's meaningless to my argument. But then, I seriously doubt you disagree with my argument.

YMMV, it is very much a ''Nanny state'' with sooo many public cameras. Like everywhere.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 5:58 pm Is Britain known for being a big brother state?

That entirely depends on what arguement you are refering to in particular. Sorry, but the brain is only working on two cylinders at the moment.LittleRaven wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 10:08 pm It's meaningless to my argument. But then, I seriously doubt you disagree with my argument.
Public cameras that nobody is sitting behind, that nobody really maintains and that more often than not do not point to where the crimes happen. Public cameras are vastely overrated in terms of preventing crimes.Robovski wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 10:13 pmYMMV, it is very much a ''Nanny state'' with sooo many public cameras.
