Here's an interesting fact: Mickey Mouse will become public domain in 2024 - and the copyrights to Superman, Batman, Disney's Snow White, and early Looney Tunes characters will all fall into the public domain between 2031 and 2035.
Incorrect. Steamboat Willy will enter the Public Domain, not Mickey Mouse. He is an actively trademarked character. Copyright applies to specific, fixed works.
It's all fairly complicated, but it's important to understand the distinctions in discussing the matter.
So far, there has been no push from Disney this time. We've already just finished passing through a twenty-year drought of Public Domain caused by legislators bending to the company in 1998. We'll see if they think they can (or even need to) try to push their luck in a very different era.
Nothing significant has changed in the last 20 years. Nothing that will affect this, I mean.

Plus. you know, Internet, streaming services, cheap, small-crew, productions becoming increasingly viable. Someone will try to make their own Superman film, possibly as a rebuttal to the DCEU, when this all goes down.
Most DCEU movies (IMO not including Wonder Woman and Aquaman) are already pretty much rebuttal for DCEU so that might not be difficult to do.

Congress will extend the term again, like always
If it can. Electoral chaos is in.

Was Superman really disrespected in the DCEU?
