It's a Twitter tag, and the only real way to fund getting rid of student loan debt.

Re: #SeizeTheEndowments
Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?

Yes, that would be even better solution.Worffan101 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:03 pm Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?

Soaking the rich only goes so far. #SeixTheEndowments would hopefully at least fight tuition inflation.
Re: #SeizeTheEndowments
So basically raise taxes to funnel more money to the already stinking rich universities?Worffan101 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:03 pm Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?
If you want to tax the rich to pay for something useful, fine, but if you are going to cancel student debt you should do it at the expense of the institutions that used it to get rich.

Do you have any thoughts that don't come from the Cato Institute?G-Man wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:00 amSo basically raise taxes to funnel more money to the already stinking rich universities?Worffan101 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:03 pm Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?

I don't think we're gonna end up with the rich subsidizing tuition for everybody who decides to go to college.

Your position on immigration is much, much closer to the Cato Institute's than mine is.Worffan101 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 5:52 amDo you have any thoughts that don't come from the Cato Institute?G-Man wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:00 amSo basically raise taxes to funnel more money to the already stinking rich universities?Worffan101 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:03 pm Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?

Dude, my position on immigrants is literally "start shipping as many people as physically possible to America and put them through our schools so they'll think of themselves as Americans". Unless your position on immigration is literally "we must literally assimilate the entire planet into our collective like the Borg", you're a lot closer to the Cato institute than me.G-Man wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 1:04 amYour position on immigration is much, much closer to the Cato Institute's than mine is.Worffan101 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 5:52 amDo you have any thoughts that don't come from the Cato Institute?G-Man wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:00 amSo basically raise taxes to funnel more money to the already stinking rich universities?Worffan101 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 6:03 pm Or we could, I don't know, raise taxes on rich people, and make the capital gains tax less of an obvious tax dodge for super-rich layabouts like Twitler and Romney?

Thanks for confirming that you don't know what the Hell you're talking about.
