So basically raise taxes to funnel more money to the already stinking rich universities?

If you want to tax the rich to pay for something useful, fine, but if you are going to cancel student debt you should do it at the expense of the institutions that used it to get rich.
Do you have any thoughts that don't come from the Cato Institute?
Your position on immigration is much, much closer to the Cato Institute's than mine is.
Dude, my position on immigrants is literally "start shipping as many people as physically possible to America and put them through our schools so they'll think of themselves as Americans". Unless your position on immigration is literally "we must literally assimilate the entire planet into our collective like the Borg", you're a lot closer to the Cato institute than me.

Thanks for confirming that you don't know what the Hell you're talking about.
Cato is the big business wing of the Republican party that wants cheap labor not the racist wing that gets off on the suffering of nonwhite children.

Worf's just saying that you'd have to be occupying nation status communism to be further away from Cato than he is with his particular brand leftism.

In general? Probably. On this particular issue? Not necessarily, for instance set up a kill zone at the boarder would be further from the Cato institute's view on immigration than Wolf's.

It's equally far fetched for anyone's practical consideration, though I doubt it technically compares to the Borg honestly.

I'm pretty sure they still oppose immigration, though, largely so their corporate cronies can keep taking advantage of desperate people who sneak over the border.

Or you know, you could do a search for "Cato" "immigration" and spend ten seconds skimming the appropriate page of their website before making any statements about what you assume their position is:
https://www.cato.org/research/immigration

Oh, and look at this article by Cato's Director of Economic Studies:
https://www.cato.org/publications/comme ... en-borders

Before accusing other people of not knowing what they are talking about, it might be a good idea to do ten seconds worth of research to make certain that you know what you are talking about. You know, like seeing what the Cato Institute's position on immigration is before opining on its position.

Actually I'm curious to what end that would accomplish. Taxes and benefits are an obligation of the employer, to which point avoiding them fraudulently is a potential liability considering potential audits what not.

Oh, so they only want rich immigrants who already know posh English and own corporations. Impressive use of bullshit euphemisms, though, I'll give 'em that.

I don't know what your position on immigration is, but unless it's literally "we are the American Borg, you will be assimilated, all of the world will be America" it's going to be pretty hard to come down further from the Cato institute position than me.

You don't have to pay undocumented immigrants a living wage (or even minimum wage) because you can scare 'em into not reporting you to the government. That's my point.

Where has this been noted as an occuring practice by employers? California for instance doesn't care about documented status.
