Everything will come back to the fact that she misrepresented her ethnicity to get a job. What else has she exaggerated? How can you trust anything she says when she won't tell the truth about herself? She'll say anything to get a gig she really wants. There are endless iterations of those questions/assertions that will cast doubt on anything and everything she says or does. Trump wants Warren to be the nominee. She's the easiest one of the bunch to get off message and into mudslinging.
Unless you're just talking about Democratic voters, Trump's fraudulence surmounts that to the tune of mountains compared to mole hills.
I don't think there's enough Democratic voters in the primaries to eschew her out of the general election for that. Some, like the blue collar Bernie supporters, are kinda speculative on this kind of thing, but this is the sort of thing that's beneath them.

The last thing the Democrats need is to make this about identity politics again. And trust me, that is what people on both sides will accuse Warren of being. The world has moved on from the time when ''I am THIS demographic!'' will net you enough votes. And before anyone says it, no, I don't think most people did vote for Obama because he was black, I think they did so because he is an extremely charismatic guy who sold his promises well and was seemingly the exact opposite of Bush.
Well I don't think it was much about identity politics, for one; the native American population isn't directly entwined in American politics that much. Two; she wasn't trying to identify with any American Indian cultures as a political device (like Jeb or Cruz), it only really came up as a caricature exposé that's used to get to know the candidate more thoroughly so you generally become more familiar with their cultural tivity.
It wasn't a political device, it was a cynical attempt to get a leg up on getting a plum job. If she hadn't done that she wouldn't be in a position to run for president. She exploited the predilection for minority hires for her own gain.

In a position to run for president? lol. I highly doubt that, as you describe it, a plum job was the pivotal point that turned her on the path to presidency.
For consideration, is there any direct evidence that she got any type of job or program because of her stated claims? Not as far as I can find.
Her position at Harvard allowed her to make the connections to serve on Congressional advisory boards, which gave her the chance to pitch her Consumer Financial Protection Bureau idea to then-president Obama. That put her on the path to the senate, which is her her stepping stone to a presidential run.
We'll never know how much her ethnicity claim affected her hiring. We do know that Harvard wasn't shy about promoting having a "Native American" on their law school faculty.

Lol 1/32. Plz
And it turns out she was 1/64! A whole generation removed (8 instead of 7)!
Ah yes, mudslinging that is big part of American politics and way Republicans like to do things. Unless you are flawless (which isn't possible) some one who opposes you will accuse you from something just to get rid off you and it will succeed because American public is stupid enough to buy it. It really shows how much establishment and people that support it are afraid of Warren when they are willing to accuse her from something like that.
