Re: Leaving the forums for a while
For how many xkcd's there are, I'm really surprised how often I see a random one that I'm familiar with. That one does have a consistent subject relevant to forums though lol.

And fair enough D, I was mistakenly referring to this, getting the two threads confused.

Re: Leaving the forums for a while
I'm sure you've all seen this song and dance... but not for this reason. I am definitely going to be away from the forums for a while, and... OMG... the reasons for it... just shatter me. My mom had a stroke. Minor one. In the frontal lobe. It's mostly affected language according to them, but not all her language. She's being taken care of so a second stroke doesn't happen. She may have forgotten to take her blood thinners. I'm lost... I now have severe separation anxiety, since we live together, and I have to face the possibility she might not be here much longer. I will be calling my case worker tomorrow. If you wanna offer words of support, that's fine. But I can't get involved in piddly little sci-fi stuff when... when my whole world's life hangs in the balance, and the best part of me has been greatly wounded. So yes, if you wonder where I went, that's why.

They said she's going to the bathroom fine, and eating fine. The big problem is language slurring. Not saying what she wants to. Case manager is coming in tomorrow. But I can't stop crying...

I've been there, mate. It sucks. If it was a one-off then she has a good chance. If there is an underlying cause like there was with my mum... it fucking sucks.

I don't get why you'd think otherwise. Yes, if you wish.
@clearspira They say she's doing better and seem sure she will recover. But I am suspicious by nature, so I don't wanna get my hopes up.
