For context: the plot of this film sees Bond having retired from MI6 to a bungalow in Jamaica, but is pulled back in by Felix Leiter, Bond's CIA opposite and friend, for One Last Job. Lashana Lynch is playing a new MI6 agent and the inheritor of the 007 codename, which Bond forfeited when he retired.

So, no, Bond is not being recast as a black woman and the biggest complaint I've heard outside of this forum, so far, has been that it isn't Idris Elba. Which... yeah, he would have been cool to see.

As y'all can probably guess, I'm fine with this turn.

Wasn't what people were afraid that James Bond himself would turned into woman but that's not what they are doing. So I don't see problem with having 007 who is black woman as long as James Bond is still man. He might have had 007 codename but he doesn't own that codename. So it makes sense that it would go new MI6 agent who in this case happens to be black woman.
