Yeah, breaking the hiatus, but anyway. I'm not a fan of German art films. At All. I hope they NEVER reach globalization status.

What exactly do you consider a "german art film"?

That's personal.

That's nonsensical.

Movies have always been political and always will be. The Ghostbusters remake was far less left leaning than the anti-establishment original.

How was the original anti-establishment? And no, the incompetent guy who tries to close them down is not a great example. He is an archetype.

Original Ghostbusters follows very Reagan style idea of private sector solving problem and it needing to be unregulated. Peck is basically shown as some one who tries to hinder that by being worried at effects that Ghostbusters devices has towards nature and rightfully so. After all everything that Ghostbusters used was untested before taken to use. So really he isn't incompetent but way he took Venkman's attitude didn't help situation who in turn was wrong member of Ghostbusters to handle situation like that one. And yet Venkman was portrayed in movie to be one who was right.

Washing your teeth can be made political...

Does not mean it has relevance to current politics or of the last 20 years and next 10.

If you must, I'll give a vague answer. I'm not fond of some of the actors there. I know I'm an American, and have NO room to complain, but it still bugs me, damn it. Of course, I'm VERY anti-establishment regarding movies anyway. I see them as art and think they belong to the people. I can't wait till technology improves to the point one person living on a meager salary can do what they did in, say, the 1980s effects ways. No actors, no equipment past a few tools, just... whatever that century's equivalent of an app is. :)
