I'm generally not a fan of white supremacy or incitements to violence.

I grew up in the Deep South so I have been surrounded by both my entire life.

Being on twitter, I know plenty of assholes on it. Can't say I've run into many on Facebook.

But I'm arguing white nationalism should get you banned not taking down the service.

In 8chan's case, they were founded for total unregulated status and that resulted in a lot of horrible people taking up residence and using it as their platform.

This is the result.

The media is on Facebook and Twitter. They are horrible fucking people for the most part.

Forums are treated as public venues legally and aren't technically responsible for what's posted on them. Moderating them doesn't null that privilege.

Which is why they should lose all of their protections they enjoy as platforms. Which is exactly how 8chan should have been treated - as a platform. I have little doubt 8chan will be back, though.

As I just said, moderating content doesn't lose that public provision.
