Will, Japanese did it, so it's not like it's impossible.Deledrius wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 6:58 amHow were they going to get the Soviets to strap bombs to themselves?Admiral X wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:21 amThat was the Soviets, actually.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 3:29 am Didn't Nazis have a plan to send dogs strapped with bombs to front lines or something?

No. In true german fashion, we used miniature tanksBridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 3:29 am Didn't Nazis have a plan to send dogs strapped with bombs to front lines or something?
P.S.: Can somebody please activate hyperlinking/hypertext again already?

I'll try.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 11:45 pmP.S.: Can somebody please activate hyperlinking/hypertext again already?
Really though for now, do people really not use Chrome, and do they feel the need to put the tag around it? In Chrome you just double click the url and it gives you an option to jump there, with an extra tab no less. When they fix the links it will be easier then, but less people will care about the posts in the future and the code messes up the ability to double click it easily.

Not everyone is using Chrome and hyperlinking allows you to do certain things that plaintext does not.

They used dogs.Deledrius wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 6:58 amHow were they going to get the Soviets to strap bombs to themselves?Admiral X wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:21 amThat was the Soviets, actually.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 3:29 am Didn't Nazis have a plan to send dogs strapped with bombs to front lines or something?
The problem was the dogs were trained to run towards the sight of things like tanks, and being dogs, didn't care which tanks they ran towards, which combined with where they'd be released near their own troops, meant that more often than not they ran back to the Soviet tanks by them.
I like dogs like too, but animals being used in war is a very old thing. Just look at horses and any other draught animal.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 12:51 pmJerks.Admiral X wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:21 amThat was the Soviets, actually.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 3:29 am Didn't Nazis have a plan to send dogs strapped with bombs to front lines or something?
The only trouble in the last century is that they're not as effective as they once were, as the incendiary bats the USAAF tried out in WWII, releasing them too high so they froze to death before they got to sea level, showed.

Yes but there is something poetic about a man and his trusty steed.

Re: VOY: Extreme Risk Review
Just like with soldiers and the exciting aspects of war, relatively few horses got to live the glamorous life of a cavalry steed and died hauling supplies, artillery or just wound up eaten when all else was gone.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:47 amYes but there is something poetic about a man and his trusty steed.
