Yeah, I phrased my thoughts badly.
He could totally do a great job, I'm just kinda tired of the constant delays between books, I can't imagine how it feels for the guys who read A Game of Thrones in the early nineties. Other authors are just better about it and I don't have as much faith in George really as I used to. He is still very good, and I'm not a guy who WANTS it to never have a real ending. I've just made peace with the idea of no ending for so long that I no longer really need it and don't have hype for it. That's just me though.

Re: Debris Folk Game of Thrones Thread
I wonder which gets published first - GRRM's The Winds of Winter, or Rothfuss' The Doors of Stone? Both are overdue, and both seem like there's still far more story to tell than can fit in one extremely long novel.
Re: Debris Folk Game of Thrones Thread
GRRM likes side stories because in SoIaF, he has already killed everybody. I realized this when we were supposed to pity Jaime and Cersei's sufferings because they were almost the only remaining living characters.PerrySimm wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 3:05 am It's been some time since the Game of Thrones review. As we head into the final TV season, what are your thoughts? Do you prefer to hear the Song of Ice and Fire from dusty tomes instead? And why does George R.R. Martin like writing side stories more than mainline books?
Self sealing stem bolts don't just seal themselves, you know.
