Bit like all the Remainers who never accepted the result and have been trying to stop it for 3 years.

Oh, I didn't realize they won that vote. Oh that's right, they didn't, the leavers did.

It's rather interesting to see a leader try and pull out all the stops to ensure the destruction of his own country.

So, we may or may not be getting a snap election.

Eh.

Johnson is only calling for it because he just lost his slim majority because a member of his party defected to the Liberal Democrats.

Last election we had, the Tory party lost seats which helped to drag the Brexit process out.

Johnson needs two-thirds majority to call an election and Labour don't want to give it to him before Brexit happens.

So, I said "may or may not", but it looks more like "may not".

Though even if we did get it, it might not achieve anything constructive.

Its also true that Corbyn is a coward. Two years of droning on and on and on about an election, and when he finally gets the chance for one, he backs away with his tail between his legs. He knows that he is not a popular man and that a third of their voters are leavers.

It's not cowardice. If the election is stalled until after October 31st, then Boris must either have a no-deal Brexit- which clearly very few people want, and might see him ousted if he tries it- or work with either Labour or the EU to reach a deal that he might not like but other parties will.

Whereas a pre-Halloween election is likely to drag things out further regardless of the outcome unless one party wins a clear majority, which is unlikely for either side.

It's just pragmatic politics.
