I will say I also kinda like the new Vader comic? Somewhat. While I take issues with how the stalker woman was presented, that was clearly meant to actually be a badass thing. Vader is Vader, period. He doesn't need humanizing, he's a walking badass.

Here's something else. I did love the Vader carnage from Rogue One. I can't deny it, lol. To me, that alone justified its existence. WOW, bet you'd NEVER hear me ever say that, eh? :P

See, here's the thing. I don't mind a NuCanon positivity thread. Hell, I've even contributed! But if that's the case, WHY do people have to bring Legends up at all if it's going to be in a negative way? Just leave that for elsewhere. This is about NuCanon, and Legends is irrelevant. Treat them both as separate continuities.

That said, something else I liked was having Maul being put in the Solo movie. That made it completely distinct from Legends, imo.

I don't think anyone else brought it up.

Someone else had earlier.

Here's also something I want to admit I respect about NuCanon. The fact they are making it more streamlined, in principle, I like. Even if some will admit it does limit story options, which is a problem they're going to have to address eventually, it's still something even Legends could have benefited from. I'm not blind. It was inconsistent. Of course, I heard Geekdom rant that Last Jedi broke from the EU, which is not a shocker. These big directors are not going to be constrained to a bunch of books and comics, which is something even Lucasfilm had admitted to.

Did he appear on the TV show? Wow, I did not know that. As much as I might think he's based on Jacen, I can respect that, really.

One thing I will admit I like about NuCanon. In Legends, the clones were merely conditioned to want to be loyal to the Chancellor, and one group even disobeyed Order 66. In NuCanon, it is biochips that make them carry it out. As far as I can tell, that's not bad, just different. Especially when contrasted against Legends, where the Jedi were adamant on free will, and that they won't bring things dead to the Force back. I think it is a highlight to another of their approaches. But yeah, biochips are fine with me, as is Luke being a slobbering hobo. It is something new, and I like that.

The new Thrawn books are good. The stark limits to fit in the gap where he was gone for a few episodes of Rebels in the third one are kind of ridiculous, though.

I do wish other authors had picked up the Grysks. They're a really nasty set of villains. Actually does anyone know if they have them at Galaxies Edge? I haven't been, but it's set where Thrawn and Vader first encountered them.
One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.
