For Klingons to have been retconned there would need to be something that changes the facts presented in the continuity. Changing who they're based on doesn't change anything within the continuity.

Besides, in 100 years, who knows how their culture might have changed? Even if later writers didn't muck it up when they went to Enterprise, and what we got now.

Also though Trials and Tribbleations lampshaded the aesthetic disparity between TOS and later Klingons. Everything else just kind of ignores that most apparently.
