Call the cops: Shots fired when Martin Scorsese says Marvel isn't Cinema

Well, Martin is right.

But then Marvel movies are not made or meant to be classic 'normal' movies. Marvel makes Superhero movies in the Superhero Trope: Rated G for Kidzs, simple stories, lots of action, no consequences, and a nice black and white world.

A marvel movie is not in the same category as a Scorsese movie. Marvel is Fun, Scorsese is serious. Marvel is for KIDZS, Scorsese is for adults.

Of course, also note Martin is very old and very out of touch....his Wikipeda page lists his favorite movies....all from like 50 or more years ago.

And, of course, you get jealousy:

Martin can make a super serious hard core adult film about some big serious topic with a serious message....and, er, make some money, more then enough to be ''ok".

Marvel can slap together some ''pew pew" random CGI spam and one liners....and make tons and tons and tons and tons of money.

I like how Sam Jackson's take on the matter understandably frames Scorsese's comments more as simply him being more of a DC fan over Marvel instead of him as a technical purveyor of film standards.

So is Coppola also talking specifically about Marvel movies and likes the innovation of DC's superhero movies, or is he just all out on comic book movies?
