True, but it's the age, not the actual company. I guess it's how misinformation spreads, but even so... at least until the next reboot. Then I will give it a different name. :)

Yes, exactly - and of course that's why the Japanese ignore their Prime Ministers (I believe it's a cultural taboo to make eye contact with them) and name their Emperors directly after whichever Godzilla series is in production at the time they ascend the throne (Showa, Heisei, and of course Reiwa derives from the kanji characters for 'Legendary Pictures Monsterverse'). Similarly the Lucas Foundation has decreed that the original, prequel, and sequel trilogies be named for the dominant cultural force at the time of their release, as Playboy Star Wars, Rule 34 Star Wars, and Pornhub Star Wars.

The novels are, like, the underwear section of department store catalogues, seems interesting at the time but you grow out of it.

That was somehow the perfect description of my relationship with Star Wars books that I didn't know I needed. Kudos.

Why are you lumping all of the old EU stuff together anyway? If we're doing eras of production the period where Bantam and Dark Horse had the license would have to be a distinct one, and then a seperate Del Rey era.

Well if we're being honest I never really read the articles.

That is very accurate description.

mathewgsmith wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:01 am Talking about what's "canon" in Doctor Who is futile anyway. Every episode takes what it wants and discards what it doesn't, so a random novel from the 80s might count as having happened but we're ignoring last week's episode.
Modern Who tries a LITTLE harder than that. Sure, flubs happen, but they rarely fully ignore events and elements.
